new puter, new funiture, same old apt

one of the disadvantages of getting a new computer (maybe the only one) is that my old scanner doesn't work. i've got a lot of great images to get up here, so it looks like i'm going to be using my old computer until it officially doesn't turn on anymore (it's close) just for scanning. but yeah, i got a brand new dell and i'm super excited about it. it was an early graduation present, but something that i needed in order to graduate. may will be here before you know it anyway.

since the last time i posted:
1) camp is over. it was fun, but i was ready for a change of scene. poor blue's bored now and sleeps all the time. he was amazing with the kids and behaves better now, so i'm pretty excited.
2) a 4th ex got engaged. chaille, the girl with commitment-phobia as bad as me is engaged. (insert end of the world joke here.) she dated a few guys after me so i can't add her to the list of date-me-then-get-marrieds, but this is still noteworthy news.
3) got a little romantic confusion going on, but then again, when am i ever NOT romantically confused? i'll just say someone surprised me, twice, and we'll see what happens. probably nothing, it's summer.
4) i have to report to an elementary school on tuesday. as much as i'm dreading it and wish i could fight it, it's going to be fun and i'm really going to enjoy it... right?!? with starting the fall semester in july, i'm done by thanksgiving, so maybe i can substitute teach or some other temporary type job and make a little winter money.
5) my apt is a wreck and i need to clean it. even blue has problems walking around in the clutter. i need to get rid of my old couch and all these computer boxes.

i wish i had something witty or exciting to write home about, but there ain't no cure for the summertime boredom. or this heat. it's amazingly hot outside, it was nothing like this in the mountains. i'm going to hate to see my power bill because my apt has no insulation. my rent's cheaper this year which might help compensate for it.

i'll leave you with some song lyrics i found when listening to songs i've written over the years:

Reliving my life through receipts from gas stations
And the memories of towns and people I met along the way
Recalling trips back home and to your place
Days when I called you mine and things were okay

Reliving ideas and the images of that summer
When a week on a sailboat made things alright
Times when I dreamed things couldn’t get much better
And days full of boredom turned to endless nights
