i haven't blogged in forever, so i'm not even sure if i remember how to do this. so much has happened, so much has changed, hopefully i've grown up a lot. here are some recent thought i've had:
-with nashville on the easternmost part of the central time zone, it gets dark incredibly early (before 5:00 with the time change). that's depressing and difficult to adjust to
-it frustrates me that people cannot intelligently discuss politics without getting offended. i know, i know, it's not polite conversation or whatever. well, i'm sorry, i don't do small talk, i need substance. i was labeled a liberal for disagreeing with the scathing rumors about obama that are too ridiculous to be true. i don't hold their one-sided worldview and it was absurd to them. i even had my christianity questioned! am i not a good christian because i don't watch fox news or read those ridiculous forwarded e-mails?
-i don't understand how people (politicians and voters alike) can align (or conform) with a party platform. i've said it before: christian values are spread across both parties' platforms, and the more "un-christian" stances are as well. how the republican party has virtually monopolized the evangelical vote based solely on abortion and marriage is beyond me. how are pro-war, pro-death penalty, and disregard for the poor and the environment christian values?
